There isn’t a better way to spend an added day in the year than celebrating two of my favorite people as they tie the knot! Ian + Paul decided to take the big ‘leap’ on Leap Day, February 29, 2020. I’ve had the pleasure of working side by side with Ian for years. Ian is the Venue Director for Madera Estates in Conroe, Tx and this happens to be one of my most favorite venues in all my wedding history!
Here are some of my favorite highlights from one of the best LGBT weddings I’ve ever seen!
But first… I should also mention that their wedding was not only featured on Weddings in Houston magazine. But also selected as the VERY FIRST wedding to be featured on the cover of the magazine! It’s always our goal to have cover worthy photos for every single REAL wedding we shoot. And we’re so happy to see this LGBT wedding photo making it!

That said, NOW we can move on to the video and photos!
Ian and Paul decided to break tradition and got ready together. It was the perfect way to have an intimate moment before guests arrived.
Another beautiful intimate moment they shared together was their letter exchange. Certainly a moment to remember. Between the couple and our crew, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight!
Madera Estates is well-known for having Spanish and European culture influences through out the venue. Truly, Ian & Paul’s theme along with their details through out the day complimented both cultures perfectly!
The couple chose to have an evening ceremony outdoors complete with string lights and fireworks! Consequently, the evening timeframe allowed them to have the perfect lighting for the ceremony and wedding portraits afterwards. Best of all, their wedding portraits included two donkeys. As a result, having the portraits be out of the box!
The cocktail hour was hosted on Madera’s terrance lounge. Their cocktail hour featured sweet melodies from Mariachi Losos Gallitos alongside the cutest beer donkeys!
Ian and Paul entered into the reception with two alpacas, making it the perfect photo-op.
During their first dance, the couple was interrupted (in the best way possible) by Tasha Kohl with a medley drag performance.
After Tasha’s medley, larger than life performers ushered the guests to the dance floor. Talk about a party!
I hope you loved getting a glimpse into Ian + Paul’s big day!
