Photojournalism is currently a very popular photography style in the wedding industry and I definitely recommend all couples hire a photographer that can handle such style. Julie and Shane did just that, however after the wedding day was all done and over they realized they wanted and very much needed romantic couple portraits as well. This is why wedding photography can get tricky. Professional wedding photographers have to specialize in basically a little bit of everything (natural lighting, photojournalism, posing, artificial lighting, night photography, people, objects, etc), otherwise couple’s are left with a very limited collection of photography from their wedding day and for some that can be disappointing.
But luckily for Julie and Shane the photos they lacked from their wedding day were ones that could be captured in a session that is becoming more and more popular: Day After Wedding Portraits Sessions. This is especially perfect for couples focused on having fun on their wedding day but still want to have awesome couple portraits. Instead of rushing through 30 minutes of photos so you can begin enjoying your reception, couples set aside a date after their wedding just to capture couple portraits with no fuss and no rush! Although Julie and Shane didn’t exactly plan to have this session, it still ended up being a great idea for them which worked in their benefit as we dedicated time and attention to their portraits which we would’ve never been able to do on their wedding day!
I was honored to have been chosen to capture their couple portraits after their wedding day and just loved having ample time with them at the gorgeous Madera Estates venue!
